Tonka bean essential oil
Tonka bean (Dipteryx odorata).
➪ Chemotype: coumarins
Dyperyx odorata, which supplies the Tonka bean, is a tree native to South America, typical of the Amazon that can grow up to 40 meters. An adult tree gives about 15 kilos of fava beans every year. The extraction process is very long . After harvesting, the ripe beans are dried in the sun for 10 months, then they are shelled and macerated in alcohol for 12/24 and again dried ; once the alcohol has evaporated, a white crystalline patina appears on the surface: coumarins. The beans are then ground into powder and cold extraction is carried out with ethanol to produce the concrete and therefore the absolute. ➪ Its effects are: stimulating, revitalizing, aphrodisiacs.
➪ On a psychological level, Tonka's absolute leads to the rediscovery of oneself , and leads to the realization of one's possibilities .
